Terms of Use

These terms apply when you access or use Mahjong Turtle. By using the site, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

Last updated:

Personal and lawful use

You may use Mahjong Turtle for personal, lawful gameplay and learning. You may link to public pages and quote limited excerpts with clear attribution. These permissions do not grant a right to republish substantial original portions of the site or present Mahjong Turtle's original work as your own.

Gameplay and solvability limits

The game is provided as available. Initial generated boards are constructed with a valid removal path. That is a statement about the starting arrangement, not a guarantee that a player will complete every game or that every later position will remain solvable.

Player decisions can depart from the original removal path. Shuffle rearranges the faces remaining in the current position and does not preserve the initial path guarantee. Hints identify an available match; they do not promise a complete solution or an optimal move. No particular score, time, streak, or successful outcome is guaranteed.

Prohibited interference and misuse

Do not:

  • Interfere with the site, its delivery, security, or another visitor's use.
  • Attempt unauthorized or malicious access to systems, code, or data.
  • Introduce malware, abusive traffic, or requests intended to degrade operation.
  • Scrape or automate access in a way that harms availability or imposes an unreasonable load.
  • Use the site to violate law, misrepresent affiliation, or abuse another person's rights.

Mahjong Turtle's original material

Where applicable, Mahjong Turtle may claim rights only in original contributions to the site, including its source code, written explanations, visual presentation, diagrams, screenshots, and Mahjong Turtle branding. Requests about specific material can follow the Copyright and Content Removal process.

Mahjong Turtle does not claim exclusive ownership of traditional Mahjong solitaire rules, traditional layouts as a category, traditional Mahjong symbols, Unicode characters, generic game terminology, or third-party marks. References to those elements describe the game and do not turn them into Mahjong Turtle's exclusive property.

Availability and service changes

Mahjong Turtle may correct content, change features, suspend parts of the site, or stop providing the service. The site may be interrupted by maintenance, browser differences, network failures, provider outages, software defects, or circumstances outside the publisher's control. Continuous or error-free operation is not promised.

These terms may be updated by publishing a revised version with a new fixed date. Changes apply from publication of the revised terms, subject to rights that cannot be changed by these terms.

Disclaimers and appropriate limitations

To the extent allowed by applicable law, the site and its content are provided without a promise that they will meet every purpose or remain free of errors. Mahjong Turtle is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss caused by use of, or inability to use, the site to the extent that such a limitation is permitted.

Some laws do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations. Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude a right or responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, and the practical effect of this section can vary by location.
