How the Cube layout works

The Cube is a compact 48-tile board built from three identical 4×4 squares stacked directly on top of one another. Because every tile sits squarely under the one above it, you have to clear the board strictly top-down — peel away the top square, then the middle, then the base.

As on the classic turtle board, a tile is only free when nothing covers it and at least one of its left or right sides is open. Match two identical free tiles to clear them, and remove all 48 tiles to win.

Cube strategy tips

  • Work the corners of the top square first — they free up before the centre.
  • Keep the top layer even; clearing one side too fast can leave you without matches.
  • Plan ahead: the tile you want may be locked under two layers above it.
  • Stuck? Use Hint, Undo, or Shuffle — every Cube board on this site is guaranteed solvable.
