How the Fortress layout works
The Fortress is a bold, blocky Mahjong Solitaire layout: a solid 10×10 base wrapped by a raised perimeter wall, with a tower standing on each of the four corners. The thick walls keep many tiles locked until you peel the outer edges, making it a satisfying step up from the open turtle board.
The rules are unchanged — remove a tile only when it is free (uncovered and open on the left or right), match identical free pairs, and clear all 132 tiles to win.
Fortress strategy tips
- Knock out the four corner towers first — they unlock the wall corners beneath them.
- Peel the wall inward from the corners so the base tiles below become exposed.
- Keep the outer base columns moving — their open edges are always free to clear.
- Use Hint, Undo, and Shuffle freely; every Fortress board is guaranteed solvable.
